Kevin Durant will become an unrestricted free agent next summer, and the Oklahoma City Thunder superstar is expected to draw significant interest from several teams next year.

The Washington Wizards are expected to become Durant's most aggresive suitor. The Wizards will reportedly convinced Durant by presenting the idea of playing for his hometown team alongside John Wall.

But aside from the Wizards, Sports Illustrated reported that the New York Knicks, Miami Heat, Golden State Warriors and Brooklyn Nets are also expected to make a strong push to sign Durant next summer.

Even powerhouse teams will have a shot at signing Durant next season because the salary cap is expected to increase significantly because the new NBA television deal will take into effect in the 2016-17 NBA season.

When asked about his impending free agency, Durant, who attended the USA Basketball minicamp in Las Vegas on Tuesday, said that he is not yet thinking of his possible moves next summer.

"I haven't even thought about," Durant said. "I'm just trying to out there and not get cussed out by Russell Westbrook."

Among the interested teams, most analysts consider the Wizards as favorites in the race to sign Durant because of the hometown factor. However, Durant insisted that previous reports about his free agency are false.

The former Most Valuable Player said that sources of previous reports know nothing about his plans because only Roc Nation Sports executive Rich Kleinman, manager Charlie Bell and his family are authorized to speak for him about his free agency.

"I trust them with my life," Durant said. "If you hear 'sources' or anything, don't believe if it didn't come from them. I tell them everything. We bounce ideas off of each other, we collaborate on a lot of different things. They give me advice. If you hear 'sources' or anything, it's not true."

Durant is determined to win a title in the near future. The Thunder failed to make the playoffs last year after Durant was hobbled by a foot injury. The 26-year-old forward averaged 25.4 points on top of 6.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists in just 27 games last season.

In order to become an appealing option for next season, the Thunder needs to win big time next season, and starting point guard Russell Westbrook is confident of their title chances next season.

"I think we're the best team in the NBA at this point," Westbrook said. "I think the group of guys we have, I think we have a good chance to win the NBA championship."
