iOS 8.4 Jailbreak News: iOS 8.4.1 Update Could Threaten Latest Jailbreak
The jailbreak community has enjoyed the capabilities of the jailbreak software for both iOS 8.3 and iOS 8.4 since July 1.
Now, Apple is expected to release an update to iOS 8.4 called iOS 8.4.1 that would mean there would not be the latest jailbreak solution available for the latest operating system.
TaiG released the jailbreak software for both iOS 8.3 and iOS 8.4. Jailbreakers expected iOS 8.4 to be the final operating system released by Apple before the major jump to iOS 9. This would mean they would have months to enjoy a jailbreak for the latest operating system, Gospel Herald reports.
Apple instead announced that there would be an iOS 8.4.1 just two weeks after iOS 8.4 was released.
Multiple jailbreak groups, including the Pangu team, are convinced that iOS 8.4.1 will include security issues that were found in iOS 8.4. That would likely include the vulnerabilities that the TaiG team used to create an iOS 8.4 jailbreak. iOS 8.4.1 is still in development and it would likely be the final update to iOS 8 before iOS 9 debuts this fall.
iOS 8.4.1 would likely come in the next two weeks or so because Apple plans to hold an event on Sept. 9 to make some big product announcements: Apple is expected to introduce new iPhones, iPads and an Apple TV device. The new iPhones are almost guaranteed to be pre-loaded with iOS 9, which means it will likely come out in the middle of September.
According to GottaBeMobile, iOS 8.4.1 is already in its beta stage, which means it is definitely a reality. Developers are testing it out and then Apple will officially make it available as an over-the-air download to the public.
The next stop for the jailbreak community is to start working on an iOS 9 jailbreak, which might be a difficult task since iOS 9 is expected to be extremely secure.
