A tourist claims he encountered a Bigfoot and captured the legendary beast on camera while he was vacationing in North Carolina.

Eric Walters said he was renting a cabin in Hendersonville, a city in Henderson County, North Carrolina, with his wife and another couple when he decided to take a stroll on the morning of Aug. 6, with his dog Ziggy. That's when Walters says he spotted a large creature that he initially believed was either a man or a bear walking through the brush on the side of the road. His Yorkshire Terrier also started barking at it, causing the mysterious thing to scurry away into the woods.

"I quickly realized it was not a bear but a Sasquatch," Walters told WTVD ABC11, adding that neighbors had warned them about bear activity and told them to be cautious. "Zippy could tell I was scared and got so riled up that he got loose and went after it. It turns out the brave little guy chased the Sasquatch away and saved me from a possible encounter. I love him more than ever."

Walters says he thanks his dog for being heroic and said, "Yorkies are small in size but bigger than even a Sasquatch in heart.

"I've read that some people think I was a little over dramatic, but how would you react to a Sasquatch."

Also in the video that Walters filmed is a real estate sign for vacation rentals. Following the incident, Walters says the real estate company, Carolina Mornings Inc., has been inundated with phone calls and emails.

"I'm flattered that even Bigfoot knows that Carolina Mornings is the best vacation rental company in Western North Carolina," said Gay Weber, the chief marketing officer for the company, according to North Carolina Citizen-Times.

"My inbox is blowing up," Weber said, adding the company is getting a lot of inquiries about rental cabins in the area.
