Aaron Hernandez's North Attleborough Mansion, SUV Hummer to Be Sold Off as Part of Wrongful Death Civil Suit
Aaron Hernandez's North Attleborough home and beloved SUV Hummer vehicle are now up for sale in anticipation of a wrongful death civil lawsuit he is expected to soon face.
According to NESN, a Massachusetts Superior Court judge recently ruled the items could be placed on the open market per a joint request from Hernandez and Ursula Ward, the mother of Odin Lloyd, whom the former New England Patriots tight end was convicted of murdering earlier this year and sentenced to life without parole.
Soon after last April's verdict was announced, Ward indicated she planned to slap Hernandez with the suit. Reports are assets from both sales will be held by the court until the wrongful death suit has been resolved. The Boston Globe previously reported the North Attleborough property has been valued at $1.3 million.
The 25-year-old Hernandez was convicted of the June 2013 execution style killing of Lloyd, a former associate who he reportedly grew leery of because of his knowledge about his involvement in other violent crimes.
Currently being held at the Souza-Baranowski maximum security prison, Hernandez is also facing double murder charges as the alleged trigger man in a 2010 drive-by shooting outside a nightclub in downtown Boston.
In that incident, prosecutors allege Hernandez opened fire on Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado after one of them spilled a drink on him inside the club and failed to apologize. Earlier this week, attorneys for Hernandez petitioned the court to have all the charges in that case dropped because a witness who supplied investigators with the information they needed to obtain a search warrant for Hernandez's vehicle later failed a lie detector test.
Meantime, Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to all the charges and expected to go on trial later this week.
