Netflix News: When is ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 5 Coming?
Fans everywhere have been clamoring for the release of Season 5 of 'The Walking Dead" on Netflix, but nothing has come up for it yet. With Season 6 just around the corner, those who want to catch up on the series can look to what they did last year as an indicator for how this will turn out.
According to Netflix Life, the DVD and Blu-Ray release for Season 4 came on about the same day this year that Season 5 will be released, Aug. 25. They also released Season 4 on Netflix the very next month on Sept. 28.
So far, their release dates have been fairly consistent from year to year and that gives fans hope that they will stick to the formula of the past and keep it consistent.
With that being said, there is a high probability that the release of Season 5 on Netflix will come on Sept. 27 of this year. That is nearly two weeks before the premiere of Season 6 on the AMC network, which is Sunday, Oct 11.
This has been a time tested formula for both AMC and the producers of "The Walking Dead," to get their fans hyped over the new season by allowing them to binge watch the previous season just before its release.
But in regards to the new companion series "Fear the Walking Dead," they will not be sharing the same exclusive contract that the parent show has with Netflix for streaming rights.
According to another article on Netflix Life, the streaming buffet Hulu has secured the exclusive rights to stream all seasons of "Fear The Walking Dead."
Not only has Hulu secured the streaming rights to "FTWD," but also all future shows on AMC. But that doesn't mean that old shows like "Breaking Bad," "Mad Men," "Halt and Catch Fire" and "TWD" will be going away from Netflix. Just anything new the network puts out.
