‘Ride Along’ Sequel Releases Trailer [Watch]
Ice Cube and Kevin Hart are back in the buddy comedy "Ride Along 2," this time as comrades and not just in-laws-to-be. According to Deadline, the new trailer features the duo in comical action as the pair take to a new street threat.
The two started off as brother-in-laws-to-be when Hart and Cube's characters clashed as polar opposites. Hart was the comfortable and protected man who preferred an evening in with his wife and playing video games. Cube was the hard-nosed cop who wanted someone better for his sister. What started out as a ride along ended as a buddy relationship that explored many different quirks and shenanigans.
In the first sequel to the film, Hart has gravitated into a role with the Atlanta Police Department, and now the two will take the comedy and action to the next level, when they find out a drug kingpin in Miami has been supplying the Atlanta streets.
They take the action to the high-living streets of Miami where they are joined by "The Newsroom" actress Olivia Munn, who plays another hard-nosed cop in the sunny city.
The trailer features the two playing well off each other in magnificent scenes of comical action with the added talents of Munn and "The Hangover" star Ken Jeong.
The original 2014 comedy-action film grossed $154 million worldwide and Universal quickly green lit the sequel film. It is set for release around the same date as the first one, on Jan. 15 of next year.
"Law & Order" star Benjamin Bratt will be playing a role in the film as the Miami drug lord who keeps the supply chain running from Florida to Georgia.
Both Cube and Hart have had busy days since they last paired on the screen. Hart just starred opposite Will Ferrell in "Get Hard" and Cube is about to release his own biopic with N.W.A. titled "Straight Outta Compton."
