The 1990 hit film "Kindergarten Cop" starring action hero Arnold Schwarzenegger is getting a sequel.

But Manly Movie reports that it is not Schwarzenegger who will be back to fill the role of the tough guy-turned-undercover cop who is a schoolteacher. No, this time it will be action star Dolph Lundgren.

The original film featured Schwarzenegger in the role of the gritty cop John Kimble who is on the hunt for a woman and her child that may eventually fall victim to a recently released criminal. He goes undercover as a kindergarten schoolteacher to find out who the woman and child are. The film included a climatic showdown between him and the criminal at the school.

The new film is expected to follow a similar premise, just with different actors and a few different angles that play out in a slightly different setting.

In the sequel, Lundgren plays the similar role of the undercover cop who doubles as a schoolteacher. He and a sidekick, who was only described as a Native American, are tracking down a flash drive that was stolen from the witness protection program. They believe it to be somewhere in the school and, just like the first movie, Lundgren finds a beautiful woman who is also a teacher. She eventually becomes his love interest.

Although the details about the direct-to-video film are vague, the basic premise for the film seems to following the same formula used in the 1990 film. The Wrap reports that Lundgren will not reprising the original role of John Kimble, but rather a new character for the sequel.

Lundgren is probably best known for his roles in "Rocky IV" and "The Expendables" franchise.

In "Rocky IV," Lundgren played the role of Ivan Drago, who ended up killing Apollo Creed in the ring and fighting Rocky Balboa in Russia near the end of the Cold War.

His character in "The Expendables" franchise has flip-flopped between good guy and bad guy, teaming back up with his "Rocky" pal Sylvester Stallone.
