PSG manager Laurent Blanc and forward Edinson Cavani haven't been in good terms lately.

Rumors of the 28-year-old Uruguayan wanting out of the French side might end with PSG receiving an offer sheet for the disgruntled striker, and it might come sooner rather than later.

According to Spanish website Fichajes.net, it is only a matter of days before Arsenal will send a formal bid for Cavani.

Cavani wouldn't be the first choice in Arsenal's offensive retooling, but as transfer talks for Karim Benzema have stalled, pulling the trigger for Cavani isn't a bad idea at all.

Cavani appeared 53 times for PSG last season and has scored a combined 31 goals for the French side.

Gunners' manager, Arsene Wenger, has been keen on acquiring Benzema from Real Madrid. However, talks to land him is currently in queue.

It was earlier reported that Arsenal executives had approved a close to €50-million bid for the Lyon striker.

Although Los Blancos initially clarified that Benzema wasn't for sale, they are currently debating over Arsenal's bid and have yet to reach a decision. The spare time has allowed Arsenal to venture around other possible signings.

At the moment, Petr Cech is the only addition to the Emirates squad this summer and Wenger does not intend for it to remain that way. He is poised to sign a forward and defensive midfielder to the club before Sept. 1.

In another part of the globe, another star player is at odds with his current boss and is seeking to sign elsewhere before the transfer window closes.

Lone 2014 World Cup Final scorer Mario Götze has had it with his manager, Pep Guardiola, not giving him enough play time. The 23-year-old is rumored to be searching for a new squad, according to The Independent.

The fall-out has apparently alerted cash-rich Premier League teams with Arsenal and Manchester City being the frontrunners to sign the German World Cup hero.

However, Goal pointed out that Götze prefers the Emirates-based squad.

Wenger was quick to jump his guns and has since prepared a £49.6-million offer sheet to acquire Götze from the Bayern Munich.

Götze joined FC Bayern Munich after the team bought his contract from Borussia Dortmund for €37 million in 2013.

He has appeared 95 times for the Bundesliga champions and has scored 31 goals for them.

Götze wouldn't have a hard time familiarizing with Arsenal's system as fellow Germans Per Mertesacker and Mesut Özil await him at the Emirates Stadium.
