Jason Derulo, Posse Booted Off Southwest Airline Flight After Shouting Match
Jason Derulo and his entourage were all booted from a Southwest Airlines flight bound for Los Angeles over the weekend, after members of his crew shouted down an airline worker, who for some reason denied them an airport escort.
TMZ reports the 25-year-old Derulo was preparing to leave Reno, Nevada for L.A., where he was slated to perform at Sunday's Teen Choice Awards, when the encounter occurred. The website added initially only Derulo's crew members were told they would not be allowed to board, but when all of them got on together, the star too was kicked off.
Reports are one of Derulo's bodyguards exchanged words with a female employee over her denial of their request, and soon things escalated into a screaming match.
According to the New York Post, Jordin Sparks' ex later made arrangements to fly private, and over the weekend appeared at the Teen Choice Awards, in addition to making a Saturday night performance at the Pandora Summer Crush concert.
Derulo later took to Instagram where he claimed he fired his travel agent "for booking me somewhere I wasn't supposed to be."
Since recently splitting with Sparks, the two have publicly been at odds, with her dissing him in a new single as being no more than an ingrate and him responding that she was guilty of trying to force him into prematurely tying the knot.
Sparks is now rumored to be dating rapper Sage the Gemini, and while Derulo has largely kept his love life under wraps, he recently told People magazine what would rate as a surefire deal-breaker for him.
"I'm not into messy teeth," he said. "If the grill has spaces and different colors, it's not my vibe."
Beyond that, Derulo insisted he is open to the possibilities and hinted he doesn't really have a type.
