The "Harry Potter" universe just got reignited with the prequel film "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" starting production this week. According to Entertainment Weekly, Warner Bros. announced that filming for the project started on Monday, and headlining star Eddie Redmayne has officially reported for duty on the project.

For those who do not already know, "Fantastic Beasts" is a prequel to the "Harry Potter" films that follows the younger version of Newt Scamander (Redmayne) through his journey in America and other locales that helps him to identify the magical creatures found around the globe.

In the film, he stops in New York for part of his journey, which will eventually lead him to completion of the infamous book that he wrote in the "Potter" universe, which is also titled "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them." His name appeared on the "Marauders Map" in "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban."

Scamander is the world's leading magizoologist, know well within the wizardry circles for his work, and will eventually go on to incredible things as fans of the "Harry Potter" universe already know.

Also starring in the film are Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, Ezra Miller, Samantha Morton, Jenn Murray and Colin Farrell.

Warner Bros. said principle photography has already started, which basically means the scenes are being filmed.

Fans will not have to wait long for the film as it is set to hit U.S. theaters on Nov. 18, 2016. It will no doubt be well received, if the previous franchise is any indicator.

Time reports the project is currently filming in London. There has been no word yet if any of it will take place in the U.S., or if the New York set will be completely assembled in the Warner Bros. studio in England.
