A new trailer for "Victor Frankenstein" was released today.

The new film, coming out this fall, is a new take on the original "Frankenstein" story that was created by Mary Shelley in the early 19th century and features James McAvoy in the title role and "Harry Potter" star Daniel Radcliffe as his assistant Igor, according to Us Magazine.

What is apparent from the very start of this trailer is the film will be told from the point-of-view of the two men, who inf their youthful charge lead an experiment in the reanimation of the life that involves not just a man but another beast.

The trailer reveals the scariest parts of the film come after the successful reanimation.

The original Igor in classic films was portrayed as a hunchback assistant that had a bit of a mutant quality to him. But Radcliffe plays the part as a handsome young man whose ambition is only rivaled by that of his master. Although Igor was not a character in the original Shelley novel, he has been portrayed in classic Hollywood cinema in both the Frankenstein and Dracula franchises.

The two engage comically throughout the trailer while taking on the dual roles of both scientists and heroes.

After the creatures come alive, they must contend with their evil nature, or more to the point, their instincts to kill and survive. The menacing beast and the human monster take on ominous roles in the film, and the duo must match them in both strength and wit.

The film was directed by Guy Ritchie, whose last period piece of classic literature was "Sherlock Holmes." His unique take on both have played out formulaically on the screen, and his representation of the characters on-screen differ quite immensely from their original works. Ritchie has been known to reconstruct characters with obvious flaws and make them into strong, attractive men. Men who transform from their meager existence into heroes.

The film is slated to hit theaters on Thanksgiving this year, Nov. 25.
