Hollywood actor Emile Hirsch, who is best known for his roles on "Into the Wild," "Speed Racer" and the TV miniseries "Bonnie and Clyde," pled guilty to an assault charge on an executive at Paramount. According to Deadline, this is going to give the actor some jail time.

The case stemmed from an incident that occurred on Jan. 25 at a nightclub. Hirsch reportedly assaulted Daniele Bernfeld, who is an executive Digital VP at Paramount. It occurred in Utah during the Sundance Film Festival at an after-party attended by both Hirsch and Bernfeld. Hirsch was reportedly in a drunken stupor at the time of the incident.

The guilty plea was made on arrangement of a plea deal that was struck between his lawyers and the prosecuting attorney in Utah. It stated that he was to serve 15 days in jail, pay $4,750, execute 50 hours of community service and attend post incarceration treatment. There will also be restitution paid to Bernfeld, the amount of which will be determined in civil court between the two parties.

Hirsch started his jail sentence yesterday and will be required to fulfill all the criteria of the plea deal or he will face up to a year in jail.

The felony and misdemeanor charges alone would have required Hirsch to serve five years in jail if the case would have went to trial and he was found guilty by a jury.

Bernfeld expressed regret that Hirsch got the plea deal. She felt like she was going to die when he was choking her during the incident, and she wanted him to see more jail time for it. She reportedly refused his advances, and that is when he became violent with her. He was later arrested at 3:15 a.m. for the altercation and taken to jail.

Hirsch maintained at the time and at the time of the charges that he had no memory of what had happened that night.
