Microsoft's Surface Pro 4 might be arriving soon. The Redmond-based tech company might unveil the next generation hybrid laplet in October, if recent reports are to be believed.

Many are eager to know what's new with the laplet. According to rumors, the device will come in two sizes of 12-inches and 14-inches variants for people to choose from.

Not only that but Tech Times added that more than the two size variants, the company will also offer a "high-end variant" of the gadget, which will have better specs beginning with a 4K resolution screen display and 16GB of RAM. It is rumored to cost around $1,300.

The base model, on the other hand, is said to have 4GB of RAM with 8,600 mAh battery and will be priced at $500.

Aside from these reports, what's truly exciting about the upcoming Surface Pro 4 is the processor and power that will be packed on the hybrid device.

WinRumors founder and senior editor at The Verge, Tom Warren, recently posted tweets about the device that will definitely make one raise his eyebrows.

"If you liked the Surface Pro 3 you'll definitely like the Surface Pro 4. Don't worry, it won't be using Core M chips," he tweeted. However, the writer did not specify what kind of processor will be included in the upcoming device.

The hybrid laplet will not immediately jump to the USB Type-C fray and will instead maintain a USB 3.0 and USB 3.1 ports, said Tech Times in another report.

Meanwhile, Silicon Angle noted that the gadget will run the Windows 10 operating system straight from the box and will have variations in the storage from 64GB up to 500GB.

While no official word from Microsoft has announced the release date, several outlets have claimed that the device will be unveiled on October 4.

One person asked Warren if the rumors of an October release date is true to which the writer confirmed on Twitter.

Further fanning the flames that the Surface Pro 4 is arriving soon is the fact that Microsoft slashed the rates of their Surface Pro 3 last August 18.

The i5 128GB Surface Pro 3 was sold for $799 from the original $999 price, reported CNet. The 12-inch device is outfitted with an Intel Core chip and a 2,160x1,440 pixel display.

The sale was not the first time the Redmond-based firm slashed rates of the Surface Pro 3. In May, the 1.9GHz Intel Core i5 model with 256B storage and 8GB RAM received a $150 discounted price.
