Arsenal wants Karim Benzema even if Arsene Wenger has repeatedly denied this. The Gunners are aiming to improve their roster and the French forward could make a difference to the team next season.

Wenger was previously quoted by ESPN FC seemingly downplaying the Benzema rumors once again.

"I respect Thierry Henry's football knowledge, but it is not as simple that you just sign a striker like Benzema and then mathematically you win the title. It doesn't work like that... It is important to have a top striker, but I think Giroud will not be far from 20 goals. If he played the whole season he would have scored 20 and Walcott as well."

But Wenger could not deny it any longer as Arsenal has bid £45 million for Benzema after the manager's statement. The bid has since stalled in the hands of Real Madrid with Los Blancos execs debating on whether or not to accept Arsenal's offer or not.

Luckily for the Emirates Stadium squad, a recent report has suggested that Real Madrid is on the verge of conceding Benzema to Arsenal to make room for Sergio Aguero's La Liga return.

According to Fichajes.net with translation from Metro, Florentino Perez has decided that he wants to coax Aguero to sign with Real Madrid this summer. If successful, this would pave the way for Wenger to covet his most sought-after signing this summer.

As to why Perez might be interested in Manchester City's premier striker, Aguero has 41 reasons why. The 27-year-old boast of a production line of thirty two goals while assisting on nine of his teammates' points.

Perez must have salivated on the thought of having Aguero, Gareth Bale, and Cristiano Ronaldo together. The Argentinean's frantic style and blazing boots would afford the Bernabeu with one of the deadliest attacking trios in all of soccer. Aguero is also the kind of personality that would fit in with the "Galacticos" persona.

However, Arsenal and Real Madrid's hopes rest in the persuading power of Perez. Perez has a lot of recruiting to do as Aguero seems to be just satisfied with his current squad.

Mirror quoted the striker saying last June, "The truth is yes, I'm very happy. I'm enjoying these four years that I've had at City and there are still many more years to come. I'm very happy."

As previously reported, Arsenal is not content on waiting for the first domino to fall. They are currently scheduled to pass an offer sheet to PSG for forward Edinson Cavani soon. Lone 2014 World Cup Final scorer, Mario Götze, is also rumored to be interested in joining the Emirates-based club.
