"Destiny" developer Bungie revealed multiple pieces of information on the game's upcoming expansion pack called The Taken King in a live Twitch stream Wednesday.

The Twitch stream, via The Verge, is the first of three live streams scheduled that will show off the features and expansions made to "Destiny."

"Destiny: The Taken King" will expand and significantly alter the "Destiny" experience.

"Destiny" has already released two versions of downloadable content (DLC) in "The Dark Below" and "House of Wolves." Those two DLC packs were just small improvements, while "The Taken King" will be a significant change to "Destiny." "The Taken King" was first announced at the E3, but Wednesday's Twitch session is the first to reveal official information on the features for the expansion.

Levelling up was confusing for some users in "Destiny." In "The Taken King," users will be able to level up all the way to level 40 by completing missions, going on patrols, running strikes and other standard gameplay. Light will still be involved in "The Taken King," but it will not keep players from attaining certain weapons and items like it did in "Destiny."

The stats of weapons and armor have been recalculated. This means all new values for damage and defense. Some weapons will not be attainable until players reach the new level cap of 40.

Exotic weapons will be even more valuable in "The Taken King." Players will be able to build exotic weapons with exotic shards and Glimmer. Exotic weapon perks will be unlocked right away, meaning players will immediately figure out why these weapons are so powerful.

"The Taken King" will do a much better job explaining to players why they are participating in quests. The story mode has been greatly improved and the new content in "The Taken King" will be mostly discovered through quests in the game.

Players can now see what their characters look like without their masks on by accessing the pause screen.

"Destiny: The Taken King" is scheduled for a Sept. 15 release.
