Patrick Stewart has taken off his Captain Picard uniform and stood up from his Professor X wheelchair to join premium cable network Starz in their new comedy show "Blunt Talk." Needless to say, this comedy series is going to show a side of Stewart that fans have never seen before, according to Deadline.

Stewart stars on the show as a highly revered network anchorman, Walter Blunt, in a controversial view of what goes on behind the scenes in his life. His last name says it all, as the anchorman is not afraid to go live on network television and admit to his indiscretions, as shown in the trailer.

Blunt is seen soliciting a prostitute during a drunken event one night when he is pulled over by a cop and subsequently arrested for his escapade. Blunt takes on a British charm as an American newsman who lives his life recklessly and without public regard. His wit seems to flawlessly mirror that of a British aristocrat who makes no apologies for his behavior.

He is consistently seen onscreen during the trailer engaging in weird practices and foul-mouthed dialogue. He is also seen using drugs and alcohol to excessive degrees, which leads viewers to believe that he is more reckless than most would know, at least those that watch him report the news every night.

There is a scene where he is painting a nude portrait of a man who is apparently an assistant of some sort to him. The man's genitalia are clearly represented in the portrait accompanied by Blunt's comical remarks sure to make the series a hit, much in the same theme as Showtime's "Californication."

The series debuts on Aug. 22, and "Family Guy" creator Seth McFarlane takes on the executive producer role. Many of the over-the-top scenes in the trailer are quite often a theme in McFarlane's work, which includes "Ted," "Ted 2" and "Family Guy."
