Fans of the '80s action figures known as "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" will soon get another film reboot from the original that came out in the late '80s starring Dolph Lundgren and Frank Langella, according to Variety.

The reboot film has already had a screenplay written for it. But now, the producers have tapped Christopher Yost ("Thor") to rewrite that screenplay to bring the legendary characters back to the big screen.

The original film and action figures were something of a cultural phenomenon that children of the era grew up on and became enamored with. The action figure "He-Man" was the alter-ego of a character known as Prince Adam.

Prince Adam ruled over the land with peace and harmony from Castle Grayskull. Adam's arch-nemesis Skeletor was always after the warrior prince, who would turn into He-Man when he was threatened by using "The Power of Grayskull."

The first and only film that was produced from the cultural phenomenon of toys and cartoons was "Masters of the Universe," back in 1987. It starred a young Lundgren, who was just coming off the success of "Rocky IV" at the time, in the lead role of He-Man.

Langella played the role of Skeletor in the movie, which also starred Courteney Cox, Meg Foster and Billy Barty. The film did not do so well at the box office, bringing in $17 million. It cost $22 million to produce.

There has been no word yet on who is expected to play the roles of He-Man or Skeletor at this time. The film project is still in its earliest stages, and once Yost completes the rewrite for the film's screenplay, a production schedule will be established. There has also been no word yet on who will be directing the picture or when it will be released to fans.
