Social media users are slamming Amy Poehler for green lighting a crude joke about R&B singer R. Kelly and Blue Ivy in her Hulu series "Difficult People," USA Today reports.

Poehler is the executive producer of "Difficult People," which premiered on Aug. 5 on Hulu. The series's debut episode follows one of the show's main characters Julie Kessler, an aspiring comedian, who must face the consequences of tweeting a bad joke, according to Fox News.

In the episode, Kessler tweets "I can't wait for Blue Ivy to be old enough for R. Kelly to piss on her."

Beyoncé fans who watched the debut episode immediately took to Twitter to slam Poehler and Hulu for green lighting the distasteful joke about Beyoncé's toddler daughter Blue Ivy.

Fox News reports that Dan Gainor, VP of Business and Culture for the Media Research Center, has also weighed in on the tasteless "Difficult People" joke and demanded that Poehler and Hulu apologize to the public.

"In what universe does anyone think it's OK to make jokes involving an accused (but acquitted) sex criminal urinating on someone's daughter?" Gainor told Fox News. "This is foul, disgusting and unfunny. And it steps into territory targeting children in a perverted way. Poehler and Hulu need to apologize ASAP."

USA Today reports that back in 2008, Kelly was acquitted on child-pornography charges in a trial that featured a sex tape of him allegedly having sex with and urinating on a teenage girl. So far, Poehler has yet to apologize or respond to the criticism. Beyoncé has remained silent as well. Instead, the pop singer has been posting several photos of herself, her husband Jay-Z, and Blue Ivy all vacationing together on Instagram. Check out some of the photos below.

But despite Poehler and Hulu remaining silent on the issue, USA Today reports that "Difficult People" has gotten several good reviews and currently stands at an 85 percent "fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
