'X-Men: Apocalypse' News Update and Plot Spoilers: First Unit Production Ends
"X-Men: Apocalypse" has finished first unit filming.
Director Bryan Singer posted a new picture on Instagram announcing that main Unit was wrapped and that there was still more to shoot in the next few weeks with second unit.
The picture was also accompanied by other pictures in which cast and crew was seen celebrating during a wrap party. James McAvoy was among the celebrities in the pictures as well as Olivia Munn and Alexandra Shipp.
Additionally there was a menu of cocktails that was posted, which had drinks named after X-men, including Mystique, Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Angel and Apocalypse.
"Apocalypse" is one of the most anticipated films of the coming year, and Singer has been active on Instagram revealing news and information on the film. Unlike Disney with "Star Wars" or with Marvel, Fox has not taken down any of the pictures. Singer is not the only one who has been active as Olivia Munn recently posted a video of her training for her role as Psylocke in the upcoming X-Men sequel.
The film is set to star Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse and Olivia Munn as Psylocke. Sophie Turner will star as Jean Grey while Tye Sheridan will be Cyclops. Michael Fassbender will reprise his role as Magneto, and McAvoy will be Charles Xavier. Jennifer Lawrence returns as Mystique, and Nicholas Hoult plays the beast.
The film currently has no plot synopsis, but based on the comic books it is known that Apocalypse is one of the X-Men's biggest adversaries and one of the most powerful mutants. According to a trailer revealed at Comic-Con, Apocalypse will be joined by Storm, Psylocke and Magneto. However, nothing is confirmed.
"X-Men: Apocalypse" will open in theaters on May 27, 2016.
