'Iron Man 4' Casting, News, Rumors: Will Tony Stark Make Way for Replacement in Next Film?
While the world awaits the forthcoming Avengers movies and even the beginning of phase three in the Marvel Universe, there is one particular superhero that continues to garner great speculation and interest.
Iron Man was the main reason that the Marvel Cinematic Universe was able to flourish, as the inaugural film of the brand name was a massive hit that continued to excel in sequels. Despite the trilogy being rounded off in the third film a few years ago, most people wait anxiously for a part four to Tony Stark's adventure, and by all accounts, they might be getting one.
Confirmation is scarce, though a plethora of different sources seem to be pointing toward the likelihood of part four.
A rumor has been going around claiming that the fourth installment has been delayed because actor Robert Downey Jr. is looking for a pay increase. The actor is making north of $40 million for his work on the superhero movies, but he might be looking for something in the realm of $70 million to $80 million.
Moreover, there is a common belief that the superhero might finally step away from the suit and make way for a successor. This will be a rather interesting situation for Marvel, as it faces losing its most iconic superhero (at least in this universe), while also having to replace a charismatic actor.
The reality is that, as the universe continues to expand, it is only a matter of time before some characters need to be put on temporary retirement to make way for others. The Black Panther, Spider-Man and Dr. Strange are among those that will be joining the universe in the very near future, and in order for them to get the treatment they deserve, someone has to go.
Of course if there is an "Iron Man 4," then it is safe to assume that Tony Stark will not be a casualty in the upcoming "Captain America: Civil War."
