'Final Fantasy 14' Patch 3.1 Brings Improved Airship Exploration System, Minion Battles, New Dungeons
MMO gaming has been one of the most inconsistent when it comes to updates and development because of its ever-changing requirement of adaptation. "Final Fantasy XIV" is no exception to the rule.
According to Game Rant, "Final Fantasy XIV" redeemed itself by doing an overhaul on their design concept. The low rating from its previous versions apparently influenced the move. The development may have been conceptualized in a way Square Enix will be able to build the game from very sparse material and concept. Creating its upward expansion, Square Enix launch the "Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward" and moved on to develop more for the game.
In a detailed post by Siliconera, "Final Fantasy XIV" Patch 3.1 includes some new available quests for the game as well as beast tribe quests that feature the Vanu Vanu and birdlike race. Aircrafts have also been added, in which players have the opportunity to make an ocular on some islands. These islands are said to be inhabited by beasts and fiends; something players may need to be very careful exploring.
Patch 3.1 will also feature two dungeons, mainly the Saint Mocianne Arboretum and the Hard Mode of Pharos Sirius. The latter has already been introduced in the form of a lighthouse dungeon in Patch 2.1.
In a post by IGN, the added features on Patch 3.1 also include significant upgrading of weapons and the presence of "The Lord of Vermilion." The minion battle featured in the "Final Fantasy XIV" has been conceptualized alongside other mini-battles to help news gamers enjoy the series without dwelling immediately on the MMO concept of the game.
Overall, the main upgrade for the "Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward" is the ability of players to update their weapons, additional mini-battles and the dungeons that make up the scene.
Realty Today, on the other hand, thinks that the addition of the new Gold Saucer mini-game is an excellent idea. RPGFan also said that it is, "the most interesting of all the new additions."
As per Realty Today, "Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn" just hit a milestone after reaching five million registered user accounts. In just a short period of time, the number could surpass the 5.6 million registered user accounts of "World of Warcraft."
The revelation of the Patch 3.1 for "Final Fantasy XIV" was announced by Producer Naoki Yoshida during a 14-hour stream featured during the celebration of the game's second anniversary.
