The new "Ghostbusters" reboot film has had significant changes made to the franchise, most notably with the gender role reversals that have shaped the movie. Actress Melissa McCarthy expressed pride in the project when she posted a picture from the set that identified with empowering women, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Make no mistake: This film will be equally as funny with the four leading ladies being seasoned veterans in the Hollywood comedy industry, and they also feature some "Saturday Night Live" alums, which was also a theme from the first film.

But the actress wanted to show the world that the production was not just a bunch of guys behind the scenes telling women what to do and how to act. The photo was rather a homage to fans that show the project was helmed by scores of women in the roles of acting, stunt doubles and various other production jobs.

On McCarthy's Twitter page, the actress posted the picture that featured the headlining stars of the film backed up by the various women that filled out the roles in the production.

"3 cheers to Ellen from all the remarkable women of ‪#Ghostbusters. When we stand together we are unstoppable!‪#GirlPower," the actress captioned on her photo.

The reference to "Ellen" on the caption was a shout out to fellow advocate for girl power and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres.

The new film features the four women taking their comedic acting chops in the rebooted roles. It also features gender reversals for the original secretary Jeanine to actor Chris Hemsworth, who initially turned the role down because it was too minor. But now that he has signed on to the picture and become part of the gender equality movement currently taking place in Hollywood, the new film is sure to be a hit when it releases next summer on July 15.
