There have been plenty of video game mods to be excited about this year, but the latest one on NBA 2K14 isn't just exciting -- it's nostalgic.

NBA 2K14 now features a Space Jam mod, and for those of you who grew up in the 90s, this is a must-see. However, you shouldn't expect to see any sort of mirror image to the movie; the Looney Tunes in this Space Jam version are looking a bit different. Nonetheless, it is still an entertaining mod to try out if you have the chance. You will see gameplay footage featuring the cartoons dressed up in basketball uniforms, and of course, Michael Jordan.

NBA 2K14 is enjoying great success this year after having a solid 2013 campaign with NBA 2K13. It was hard to know whether NBA 2K14 could top last year's game, but this year's game most certainly lived up to the hype -- perhaps that can be attributed to the fact that the game's most popular player, LeBron James, is plastered on the cover of the game.

The Space Jam mod represents an interesting parallel and comparison between two of the most prominent and successful players in basketball history in LeBron James and Michael Jordan. Of course, Michael Jordan enjoyed the publicity he received from Space Jam while LeBron James is most certainly boosting his public image even more now than ever by being the face of NBA 2K14. Even in different eras, with different technology, the two stars are marking their territory in the sports culture surrounding them.
