Political observers the world over were shocked when GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump told veteran journalist Jorge Ramos repeatedly to sit down before kicking him out of an Iowa press conference. Ramos' Univision boss, Randy Falco, has since released a statement.

“The recent treatment that Jorge Ramos received at Mr. Trump’s press conference in Iowa is beneath contempt,” wrote Falco, “As a Presidential candidate, Mr. Trump is going to get tough questions from the press and has to answer them.”

Praising Ramos as one of the most professional, dedicated and respected journalists that he has ever worked with, Falco castigated the controversial candidate, stating, “Mr. Trump demonstrated complete disregard for him and for the countless Hispanics whom Jorge seeks to represent through press questions that are at the heart of the First Amendment.”

Trump for his part felt he was in the right to get rid of Ramos because the journalist had not been called to speak.

Ramos, talking with the Washington Post, explained his interview tactics, “I have been to thousands of press conferences, and sometimes you are called and sometimes it doesn't happen. You have to get the person's attention. I have followed many of Mr. Trump's press conferences, and that's the dynamic, always. You have to be assertive.”

As Latin Post reported, Ramos also spoke to Megyn Kelly of Fox News Wednesday night regarding the incident, saying the "The only thing that I wanted to do was to ask a question."

"He tried to silence me and in this country you cannot do that. I'm a citizen, I'm an immigrant, I'm a reporter. And I have the right in this country to ask any question I want, to whomever I want," said Ramos to Kelly, who has famously had her own issues with Trump when weeks ago he made a remark insinuating to her's interview style to her menstrual cycle.
