In a different universe, the purple-and-gold-clad Thanos is the perfect Los Angeles Lakers mascot. In the Marvel universe though, he is a hulking behemoth hell-bent on causing death and destruction to all life as we know it. As much as the Avengers themselves would want him to be the former, Thanos won't be joking around once he faces Earth's mightiest heroes.

Fans had their first glimpse of Thanos during a mid-credit scene from 2012's "The Avengers". Since then, speculations have run amoke as to when the Mad Titan will inevitably confront the superhero team on the big screen. The casting of Josh Brolin as the voice of Thanos in last year's "Guardians of the Galaxy," as reported by io9, further sparked excitement for the character.

The casting also meant Brolin will have to get used to answering Thanos-related questions now until 2019, when the Mad Titan will likely have a significant role in the two-part "Avengers: Infinity Wars" movies. Brolin had his baptism of fire recently and showed he can build up anticipation for the character without giving too much details away.

Brolin was at a press event over the weekend to promote his latest film, "Everest". Needless to say, the 47-year-old actor did not escape questioning from entertainment news media regarding his involvement in the MCU. Brolin said that he is excited to be a part of the MCU and even mentioned one memorable encounter he had with a diehard comic book fan.

"I love going into a comic book store and a guy connecting me with Thanos, and seeing the incredible regressive awe that happens. Like you see them lose 30 years in can't-breathe awe. That's fun, and I have a lot of respect for those fans. I'm excited about doing it, I really am," he told MTV News.

As to whether or not the Mad Titan will show up in next years's "Captain America: Civil War," the actors admits he really doesn't know."I don't know which one I'm in. That's a Kevin Feige question. I know the trajectory of what they're doing, but I don't know exactly which one I'm in," he said.

This strategy can be expected from Marvel Studios, given how big their cinematic universe has become. Compartmentalizing plot details might just be a good idea for the studio to avoid disastrous leakages from the plethora of actors and actresses they currently employ.

One question that Brolin wasn't able to shake off though was when he was asked which Avenger was he most excited to do battle against. Brolin answered like only Thanos himself would.

"I don't have a favorite because it's me against all of them. I think the entirety is what I'm most looking forward to. Each and every one. I'm bringing the wrath."
