Pharrell Williams fans are in for an exciting start to the month of March after the rapper announced a new album release.

The album will drop on March 3, marking yet another exciting time for the rapper that just performed at the NBA All-Star Game alongside some of the most prominent music stars in the industrty. Pharrell has also seen his hit song "Happy" soar in the Billboard charts as fans continue to enjoy his music and unique style.

The name of the upcoming and anticipated album is going to be G I R L, and as simple and random as it sounds, Pharrell said he decided on the album name as soon as Columbia Records reached out to him about the idea to do an album.

"When Columbia Records presented me with the opportunity to make an album, three things came to mind," the rapper said via a statement. "One was the sense of overwhelming honor that I felt when I realized that they were interested in partnering with me on the album that I had always dreamt of making. Two, it would have to feel festive and urgent. And three, I instantly knew it would be called G I R L. I hope you like it."

Pharrell is enjoying a huge rise in fame and he has been extremely smart in the way he has marketed himself, most notably with his large and tall hat. The distinctive hat -- which represents his respect for the music from previous eras -- he has become a star that is easy to spot out by anyone.
