What has become quite clear about the hit AMC series "The Walking Dead" is that the show is not just a zombie series but rather a series that features the toll such an environment takes on the survivors of the outbreak. Fans get a weekly dose of how the people in this universe interact with each other given the extreme trauma their bodies and minds have went through.

Series star Steven Yeun sat down with Entertainment Weekly and gave some details about how that has played out so far and what's to come in regards to their mental and physical well-being.

"It's easy to use the buzzwords -- to say 'roller coaster' or 'intense,'" Yeun said.

"I think last year was a very good indicator of where we're headed. We're seeing everybody as who they are now. You've found them grizzled. You've found them completely broken and shattered and they've all witnessed and experienced terrible things. And so you get to see them there."

But seeing and understanding what the characters are going through will graduate to a more clear understanding this upcoming season.

"We wear it on our face," Yeun said.

"We wear it on our body. To see where we've evolved to is awesome. So [Season] 6 is that, is showing how much has been taken away from us. The end goal is to find some semblance of life that we lost before. I think you're going to see some deeply emotional character story and you're also going to see, as we always do, some crazy-*ss sh*t."

What fans can expect to see is not just the progression of their beloved characters but some new ones.

Spoilers Guide reports a casting notice has been sent out for an old man (50s or 60s) that has a bit of a narcissistic attitude. This character becomes quite pleased off the notion of being in control but has the charm of a congressman while trying to pass himself off as humble.

The notice also said the part will be a guest star but has an option to recur in future seasons.
