"Switched at Birth,” ABC Family’s hit teen drama, is going into some complicated territory. Episode 13 of season 4, titled “Between Hope and Fear,” is all about the clash of personalities that inevitably occurs when families come together to try to start new lives.

As reported in Cartermatt, the upcoming show will follow the highs and lows of several relationships taking the next step.

Daphne (Katie Leclerc) will be overjoyed when Eric (Terrell Tilford) decides to finally ask Regina (Constance Marie) to move in with him. Regina, however, will be troubled by how little she actually knows about the mother of Eric’s son and decides to travel to Atlanta to find out whatever she can about the mysterious woman.

John (D.W. Moffett), who has been experiencing extreme financial stress, will come to verbal blows with Toby (Lucas Grabeel), who approaches the family for some monetary support. A teaser clip of the upcoming episode has John screaming at the soon-to-be father, “You are responsible forever!”

Bay (Vanessa Marano) will be surprised to learn that she and Daphne have very different views regarding pregnancy, and Travis (Ryan Lane) who leaves for L.A. to visit Emmett (Sean Berdy), is sad to see that his old pal has gone Hollywood.

Obviously there is a lot of action packed into the episode.

Marano and Lea Thompson, who plays Kathryn Kennish on the series, recently talked to People Magazine about all that is happening on their show. The two actresses argued over who was more amazing on the series, and Thompson said that, “After all this time we all really like each other.” Marano made a joke about “mutual hair puling” and then went on to describe the season.

“I’m gonna say this season, for like hardcore fans of the show, there is a lot of like moments that you’ve been waiting … for anyone who is new to the show there is just good old fashion ‘Switched at Birth’ drama that just sucks you in,” she said.

The next episode of “Switched at Birth” airs Monday Sep. 7 on ABC Family. Watch a sneak peek:
