One lucky California woman's simple mathematical error just became the best mistake of her life, winning her a Lotto jackpot worth a  total of $14 million.

Thuan Le is a hard-working single mother of four who has made it a habit of purchasing Lotto tickets from a self-serve machine at a CVS in her hometown of Mission Viejo. Her routine is the same every time: she buys $4 worth of POWERBALL tickets and puts an additional dollar towards the SuperLotto Plus.

Last Wednesday, however, a trick of fate worked in her favor. She accidentally deposited $6 into the machine instead of her usual $5, and instead of asking for the dollar back, Le decided to go ahead and buy one extra SuperLotto Plus ticket.

Well, that ticket turned out to have the winning numbers 5, 33, 25, 46, 32 as well as the Mega number of 26. Those combination of numbers were good enough to win the jackpot, which also quite luckily, had been rapidly accumulating after 8 unsuccessful drawings over the past month.

"Thuan Le is a hardworking single mother of four sons," according to a release from the California Lottery. "She is also very excitable. In fact, when she ran her SuperLotto Plus ticket through the terminal and realized she had won a $14 million jackpot, she ran screaming out of the store!"

It appears that Le could not believe her own luck, and she wasn't the only one. Apparently their mother can be a bit of a trickster.

"We thought she was joking," her son told California Lottery officials.  "But we thought would she really joke like this? My older brother said, 'Yes, she would.'"

But Le was not joking, and now she will have plenty of time to decide how she would like to spend her massive amounts of winnings. She has reported that she will use the money to buy a house, travel, and see her parents in Vietnam.

Thuan Le is not the only winner to come out of all of this either. The CVS where she purchased her jackpot ticket will receive a $70,000 gift as well for issuing out the winning numbers.
