A mid-life crisis for men was always a way to embrace their lost youth. But a late in life crisis for men is a way of not allowing themselves to get old. That is the case with Robert Redford and Nick Nolte in the comical film "A Walk in the Woods," according to Deadline.

The film is actually a biopic of author Bill Bryson who wrote a book of the same name. It chronicles his journey to walk the Appalachian Trail, which extends from Georgia to Maine.

Redford play's Bryson, a retired man who wants to make more of his life as opposed to just getting old and fading away. He comes up with the perfect idea to make the trail hike, much to the chagrin of his wife, played by Emma Thompson.

Bryson needs someone to go with him and he makes several inquiries to his current friends that turn him down. But when he looks old pal Katz (Nick Nolte), he is more than willing to go along on the hike.

The journey sets off well and along the way, the two reconnect after having not spoken in several years. Their journey takes several comical turns that leads the pair into a new understanding and appreciation for one another.

They not only encounter obstacles on their path, but they also meet colorful characters that in some way liven up their journey and bring them to hilarious new strides that in effect, gives the audience quite a lighthearted chuckle, much in the same vein as "Grumpy Old Men."

Although it is more heavily billed as a comedy, the film also features many scenes of light drama that gives the movie more of a feel-good effect.

The film itself has already premiered at the Sundance Film Festival this year and received loads of critical and audience praise. It is set for a domestic release in about 1,800 theaters over Labor Day weekend.
