Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez Relationship Rumors: 'Baby' Singer Gives Shout Out to Ex in New Music Video
Justin Bieber is not letting go of ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez.
The singer gave a small, but clear, hint that his new single 'What Do You Mean?" is about the famous Latina in the song's music video.
According to E! Online, the 21-year-old pop star's video, released on Aug. 30, includes a shot of a wall filled with graffiti and, in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment, the word "Sel" can be seen written 3 minutes and 45 seconds into the video.
Later, at the 4 minute and 11 seconds mark, the rest of the word is visible, spelling out "lena." Combine the two shots and you've got a perfectly visible shout out to the "Hotel Transylvania 2" star.
Besides the visible hint, the lyrics of the song suggest a constant back and forth between Bieber and his love interest, which actually mimics his history with Gomez.
"What do you mean?" sings Bieber. "When you nod your head yes but you wanna say no. What do you mean? When you don't want me to move, but you tell me to go. What do you mean?"
This isn't the first time Gomez's name appears in one of Bieber's videos. According to ET Online, the singer, who was featured on the song "Where Are You Now?" by Jack U and Skrillex, called out Gomez in the video when the words "Where r now, Selena" can be easily seen in the background.
Gomez recently spoke about her relationship with Bieber and, while she may be over him, she explained why she thinks fans and the media may not be, reported People.
"It's difficult for people to separate us," said the 23-year-old. "The Internet wants to freeze this moment in time and constantly repeat it ... I didn't think I was doing anything bad by falling in love. There's such an emphasis on people being the perfect thing and then destroying them because it's good press. Also through in the fact that you are a teenager -- it makes it more difficult."
