Everything comes at a price when it comes to freedom.

"The Walking Dead" star Lauren Cohan laid out a few details for Season 6 of the hit AMC series that might have some fans reeling with excitement, given that everything they ever wanted on the show may be accomplished -- but at what cost?

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Cohan showed fans that, if their favorite characters want something bad enough, then they might just get it. But it will not be easy.

"I don't know if anybody has said this yet but we always joke that the writers write these amazing action sequences from air-conditioned offices," Cohan told EW. "And I think this season is no exception and definitely rises above. We have the most suffocating beginning to the season that I've experienced yet."

That is not so unusual, given how Season 5 began and where it ended up. Fans should consider just what the characters on the show are striving for though. Are they trying to kill all the Walkers that have resurrected? Are they trying to make the world a safer place? Or are they simply trying to make their place in the world safer for them?

"I think what's been really interesting is that you see us all kind of make strides in the direction of civility or civilization and a more regimented society," Cohan said. "And it's about being really challenged. So we'll see a ton of challenges and we'll see people the audience has been introduced to as very stable reliable characters crumbling, and I think it's going to be pretty scary. Welcome to 'The Walking Dead.'"

Fans can make of that what they will, but it might be a safe assumption that the crew will carve out their safety zone and find themselves more at constant odds with the human elements than with the Walkers.

Season 6 premieres on AMC on Oct. 11.
