The newest addition to the Netflix original series family, "Narcos," has been added to the streaming library as of Friday of last week.

Now, less than a week later, it has already been renewed for a Season 2, according to Deadline.

Many shows that debut on Netflix as originals have been greeted with critical praise and loads of audience approvals. "Narcos" just adds to that list with another hit series by the streaming buffet giant.

The show is a true-to-life account of the bloody cocaine wars that escalated in the '80s following the infiltration of Miami by the notorious Colombian Medellin Cartel that was fronted by the ruthless drug lord and master smuggler Pablo Escobar.

"So what's it going to be? Silver or lead?" Escobar famously said when he was met with Colombian authorities on the series while smuggling TVs and other merchandise across the border.

His murderous attitude toward authority gave him quite an upper hand in the ensuing wars that would play out in his home country as well as across the globe. It was his cartel that first latched onto the Colombian cocaine trade and during his reign, hundreds lost their lives in the process while cocaine became one of the most sought after drugs on the black market during the time period.

The series also focuses on DEA agent Javier Peña, who goes on an undercover mission for the U.S. to seek out and ultimately capture or kill Escobar in his home country. Peña, in the series, was shown to see his fair share of defeat and loss.

The show even featured Escobar's rise to power once he collectively brought the criminal element together and vowed to kill the gang who had kidnapped an associate's daughter.

The series will now continue on the streaming buffet platform with a Season 2 order. There has been no word yet as to when it will start production, nor when it will be released to subscribers.
