Rosie O'Donnell is expected to soon return to "The View" talk show for guest appearances.

"Rosie is coming back," a source tells Radar Online.

In fact, rumblings are that the plan always called for the 53-year-old O'Donnell to return to the show she has now twice starred on as chief moderator. A source adds that an official offer was extended to O'Donnell just weeks ago, and her people are now working out the details.

"Execs definitely would like some of her appearances to happen at some point during the election," a source added. "And, of course, she'll be talking about Donald Trump."

O'Donnell's running feud with the current front-running Republican candidate for the 2016 presidential election has become almost legendary. The battle of insults dates all the way back to 2006. During a "The View" show airing, O'Donnell criticized Trump as a snake-oil salesman over his reluctance to fire Miss USA Tara Conner for her rumored drug use.

O'Donnell later added, "He left the first wife-had an affair. He had kids both times, but he's the moral compass for 20-year-olds in America. Donald, sit and spin, my friend."

Trump quickly responded, telling People magazine "Rosie's a loser" and "a woman out of control." He later added, "I look forward to taking lots of money from my nice, fat little Rosie."

O'Donnell last left "The View" as moderator in February of this year, offering the explanation that she was "refocusing her life after splitting from wife Michelle Rounds."

"She's focused on her kids now," said rep Cindi Berger. "This is the right thing for her to do. The stress of a daily live talk show is a lot - and the separation is a lot, and you reach a certain point where you have to put health and family first, and she has."
