“The Last Ship” will air its last episode of the season this Sunday.

Episode 13 of season 2, entitled “A More Perfect Union,” has the crew of the USS Nathan James trying to convince America that they are the good guys.

As reported on Spoilers Guide, the crew has become fully dedicated to spreading the cure, and has put out a call to all surviving civilians to meet up at ports across the country to get their medicine. As this happens, factions of the Immunes are still around, actively trying to fight the cure and fulfill the dreams of their leader Sean Ramsey (Brian F. O'Byrne).

The episode will set up several questions for the next season of the TNT series, which Variety reports, has been green lit for 13 episodes.

Chief among the big questions is: Will the Nathan James be able to regain the trust of the country? The chaos caused by the Immunes might very well have dashed any hopes of spreading the cure and saving humanity.

In the teaser for the season finale, a menacing Ramsey speaks from a video screen to Commander Tom Chandler (Eric Dane) and says, “Rest assured. You and me, we’ve got unfinished business.”

Though he is convincingly scary on screen, the actor who plays Ramsey is really a soft-sided family man. In an interview in Irish America, O’Byrne questions whether running around for high-profile acting gigs is even worth the effort, saying, “Is it worth missing my children’s days, and my wife’s hugs? And, of course, the answer is a resounding no. It’s not worth it. Life is too short. It’s time to change how I work.”

The actor says he admires “selfless people who work for the good of others,” and describes the perfect day: “Kissing my kids and my wife goodnight after goofing around in our home.”

The season finale of “The Last Ship” airs on Sunday, Sept. 6 on TNT.
