The “Star Wars” franchise will add another Latino to its roster, as Benicio del Toro has confirmed that he will be in the eighth episode of the huge franchise.

Del Toro was rumored to be in the film in late July, but there was never any confirmation about whether he was in fact involved. Now the man himself, who starred as the Collector in “Guardians of the Galaxy,” is set to return to the world of sci-fi fantasy in what will probably be his biggest role ever.

During an interview, the actor revealed his role and when the film will be shooting.

“Star Wars is coming up, we will see how that turns out. I think we start shooting in March,” he stated, according to StarWars7news.com.

Things got really interested when he talked about his role.

“Ehhh, the thing is, they don’t let me talk too much about it. I’m like the villain. But we’ll see,” he stated.

What does he mean by “like the villain”? Is he a henchman for Kylo Ren? Or could he be a bounty hunter? “Episode VIII” will be the middle picture in the new trilogy. Does anyone remember what new characters were introduced in the middle film of the prequels and original films?

For those who need a reminder, here goes. “The Empire Strikes Back” brought Boba Fett to the screen for the first time ever. “Attack of the Clones” matched that feat by introducing his father Jango Fett as well. What do those men have in common? They are bounty hunters. So could the sequels trilogy honor the tradition and also introduce a bounty hunter?

It certainly seems like a logical move given the ever expanding roster.

Del Toro joins Oscar Isaac as the main Latin American actors to star in the new set of movies.

Rian Johnson will direct the film, which is due for a May 2016 release date.
