‘Hawaii Five-0’ Spoilers: Season 6 Teaser Video Released for Episode 1 [Watch]
The opening episode for season 6 of the hit CBS drama thriller series "Hawaii Five-0" is set to be an explosive debut for the show. According to TV Line, the series does more than just expand on its season 5 finale, which drove audiences everywhere into a nail-biting frenzy.
This time, the story will continue, but there will be a swashbuckling surprise in store for fans.
There has always been a legend that pirates attacked the tiny Pacific island back in the 1880s, but that story has grown and evolved over the years to make some of the elements a little more action-driven.
In the opening sequence for the premiere episode of season 6, there will be flashback scenes to that era in which pirates attacked the island. The interjections transition smoothly back into the regular show. The episode takes on a treasure hunt storyline, which surrounds the events that took place last season.
The episode is titled "Mai ho'oni i ka wai lana mâlie," which translates to "Do Not Disturb the Water That Is Tranquil."
According to showrunner Peter Lenkov, who spoke with TV Line, it is "loosely based on a legend that pirates attacked the island in the 1880s, so we actually open up the season seeing that pirate attack in a flashback. It's our version of 'Pirates of the Caribbean,' where pirates are attacking the palace and the streets of Waikiki. And that sort of launches us into a modern-day treasure hunt for what they had stolen."
The new teaser trailer for the episode has been released, and it is filled with excitement from all your favorite characters of the show getting caught up in the mad treasure hunt.
Also in the episode is the after-party for Kono (Grace Park) and Adam (Ian Anthony Dale), who will have their honeymoon cut short by the events. Steve (Alex O'Loughlin) and Catherine (Michelle Borth) are back together, but things will go awry, and he will eventually be courting another romantic love interest.
