Marvel’s Third Netflix Series ‘Luke Cage’ Adds ‘Sons of Anarchy’ Star Theo Rossi
The onslaught of TV series' in the comic book kingdom has graced both the broadcast and streaming spectrum.
Following the success of Netflix's "Daredevil," the streaming giant will be adding three more Marvel series to its lineup. This includes "Luke Cage," which just added "Sons of Anarchy" star Theo Rossi to its cast of regulars, according to Deadline.
Rossi starred in all six season of "Sons" before the epic grand finale on FX last year. Most of those characters were killed off, which includes Rossi's. So now that there is no hope for him to join the spinoff of "Sons," he has taken a full-time gig with the newest addition to the Netflix lineup, which is all but guaranteed to be a hit.
He will be starring opposite Alfre Woodard and Mike Colter in the show, which will also feature "Daredevil" actress Rosario Dawson, reprising her role as Claire Temple. There is a good possibility that she will be a major crossover character in all four Marvel shows that will all eventually be featured on the "streaming buffet" giant.
Colter is set to portray the title character in the series and he will be actually making his character debut on "Jessica Jones." Temple will likely be Luke Cage's love interest on both shows.
There has been no word on whether or not she will be portraying the character in the fourth show that will also be debuting on Netflix.
Rossi is expected to in some way take up the role of Cage's nemesis in the series, starring as Shades, or Alvarez. He may also be taking up the character of Sonny. There has been no official word released yet on that.
"Luke Cage" is about a superhero who was wrongfully convicted of a crime and given super strength when an experiment went wrong. He busts out of jail and becomes a superhero for hire.
