'Jane the Virgin' Season 2 Spoilers: Pop Singer Kesha to Guest Star in New Season
It turns out that Britney Spears won't be the only pop star who will make a guest appearance in Season 2 of "Jane the Virgin" this fall.
According to Carter Matt, The CW has also announced that Kesha will be featured on the popular comedy series. In a statement, The CW revealed that the "Tik Tok" singer has been cast to play a rock n' roll singer named Annabelle who becomes neighbors with Jane, played by series star Gina Rodriguez. Kesha's character will make her debut in the second episode of the season.
"We are so thrilled Kesha will be appearing on Jane!" said the show's executive producer Jennie Snyder Urman. "We are all huge fans of hers, and we are so excited to welcome her to the 'Jane the Virgin' family.'"
Last month, Rodriquez gushed about working with pop icon Britney Spears on her show.
"The possibilities are endless. I'm VERY excited to have Britney Spears on as a guest," said the Puerto Rican American actress, according to The Detroit News. "And I'm excited to explore motherhood with Jane ... the issues of motherhood, especially at a younger age like Jane is, and wanting to preserve her dreams, wanting to preserve herself."
Actor Jaime Camil, who plays Rogelio on the show, also expressed excitement about Spears' guest role as his "nemesis."
"We're super excited to have her on the show," Camil recently told Access Hollywood. "And I think Jennie [Snyder Urman, the show's executive producer and creator] and her team of writers, they're going to write brilliant stuff for Rogelio and Britney to meet each other. It's going to be brilliant."
Camil added, "In Rogelio's mind -- and let me be very clear about that -- only in his mind, Britney is his biggest nemesis. So let's see what happens."
Season 2 of "Jane the Virgin" will premiere on Monday, Oct. 12 on The CW.
