Watch out, Netflix: Amazon Prime is catching up to you. The streaming video buffet has successfully navigated the waters of dead TV shows and finally resurrected a winning show that once had such an immense cult following, Fox network was mocked and shunned for years after its cancellation. According to People, "The Tick" is coming back with its original star.

Although the live-action "The Tick" was originally hailed as a parody series for superheroes, actor Patrick Warburton ("Rules of Engagement," "Family Guy") gave the series such an immense comical turn that fans everywhere fell in love with his portrayal of the hilarious superhero.

The original incarnation of the comic book series ran for three seasons in the '90s as animated kids show before Warburton donned the outfit for the live-action series in 2001. Unfortunately, that series only lasted for nine episodes before the network gave it the axe.

Fast-forward 14 years later, and the series is back from the dead, and Warburton will be donning the outfit at least one more time with Amazon Prime green lighting it for the pilot season.

During Amazon's pilot season, fans can watch all pilot episodes for a series for free. If enough votes and ratings come in for the pilot, then the series gets picked up for a freshman season and runs exclusively on their streaming platform.

The deal was struck when Warburton agreed to work in collaboration with Sony Television to produce the resurrection series. This comes on the heels of Netflix's successful turn around for another Fox show, "Arrested Development."

Although there has been no confirmation yet as to whether Oscar winning costume designer Colleen Atwood will be returning to the series, there is still hope for her return to once again bring back The Tick's magnificent costume.
