Meek Mill Tells DJ to Stop Playing Future During Made in America, Was It a Diss?
It seems rapper Meek Mill wasn't thrilled that his DJ continued to play Future Hendrix's music during his set at the Budweiser Made in America festival over the weekend.
@danielgotskillz posted a Twitter video of the Philly-born rapper's Saturday set at the festival, in which he seemed dismissive of Future, a regular collaborator.
"You're playing all motherf*ckin' Future tonight, n*gg*," Mill said, partway through his DJ spinning "Freak Hoes." "You don't play some motherf*cking rap, too? The hell is you doing, n*gg*? Play some hot sh*t, too. My n*gg* Future on Made In America."
Once word of the incident hit social media, many speculated that Mill was provoking yet another beef with one of the hip-hop industry's most popular rappers.
The "All Eyes On You" rapper quickly quashed feud rumors on social media.
"My Dj caught a future attack on the set when he was told play a bunch of artist sh*t! Lol He prolly did it because I tell play all future in the club! Don't get it f*cked up we rather see the streets win b4 anything!" he wrote Sunday on Instagram.
It does seem unlikely Mill purposely dissed Future, as the "Dreams Worth More Than Money" rapper said during a recent interview on "The Breakfast Club" that Future was his favorite artist.
Future, who was also on the bill at the Jay Z-curated Budweiser Made in America festival, played on the Liberty Stage, drawing a huge crowd, reports Rolling Stone. The crowd rapped along as he sang hits "Thought It Was a Drought" and "My Ho 2." When he broke out "Trap N*gg*s" and "Sh*t," the audience was jumping and singing.
"Thanks for comin' out to the little stage," Future said. "You make this feel like a nighttime concert."
Future surprised everyone at the end of his set when he announced that he'd be releasing another project this year.
The "Itchin'" rapper has not commented on the Mill incident.
