Later this month, "Criminal Minds" will kick off a thrilling new season that will include a big story arc revolving around the Dark Web.

Season 11 of the long-running CBS suspense series will introduce new murder mysteries, drama and characters like Dr. Tara Lewis. In addition, executive producer Erica Messer also revealed that a major story arc will be based on the takedown of Silk Road, a notorious online black market that was known for selling illegal drugs until the FBI shut it down in 2013.

"It's about a sort of Silk Road/hitman-for-hire storyline," said the showrunner during an interview with Entertainment Weekly. "Now that Silk Road's been dismantled, the bad guys are still out there even if they don't have Silk Road to be their organization. We're picking up those pieces of what happens when you kill the head of a monster? Another one grows."

It has also been revealed that veteran actress Aisha Tyler has been cast to play Dr. Tara Lewis, a new forensic psychologist who joins the team since AJ Cook took time off for maternity leave.

"The people in the BAU are analyzing these unknown subjects trying to catch them, but my character analyzes them after they've been caught to make sure they're competent to stand trial," said Tyler, reports Entertainment Weekly.

According to Zap2it, the official show description for the first episode of the new season states that: "The 11th season begins with the BAU interviewing different candidates to join their ranks in the wake of Kate's departure, including a forensic psychologist, Dr. Tara Lewis, who is eager to assist their efforts. Also, the BAU hunts for a serial killer who leaves behind distinctive evidence that points to someone intent on revenge,"

Season 11 of "Criminal Minds" will premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 9 p.m. EDT on CBS.
