On Sept. 10, "Under the Dome" will air its series finale, and ahead of its last episode, CBS has released a video giving fans a look at the dome coming down.

After three seasons, "Under the Dome" is coming to a conclusion, and while fans have known for weeks now that the dome would be coming down at the end of Season 3, CBS announced that the season finale would also serve as the series finale, since the show will not be picked up for Season 4.

In the trailer for the series finale, members of the resistance can be seen making final attempts to bring a stop to the queen, who killed this season's main villain Christine in last week's episode, from infecting the people outside of the dome.

The clip also shows the reunited Barbie (Mike Vogel) and Julia (Rachelle Lefevre) slipping through cracks in the earth. Junior (Alexander Koch) and Big Jim (Dean Norris) are both seen fighting Sam (Eddie Cahill), and the military appears, taking over the town after the dome comes down, just as dramatically as it went up.

"When the Dome comes down, many questions about its origin and power will be answered, as two groups of residents engage in one final conflict that some won't survive," revealed CBS in a statement.

According to The Inquisitr, Stephen King, the author of the book that inspired the series, has shown his support for the series with a letter on his website.

While many fans were frustrated that the series changed a lot of what actually happens in the book, which may have led to a drop in ratings, King shared his role in those changes.

"Many of the changes ... have been of necessity, and I approved of them wholeheartedly," he said. "Some have been occasioned by their plan to keep the Dome in place over Chester's Mill for months instead of little more than a week, as is the case in the book. Other story modifications are slotting into place because the writers have completely re-imagined the source of the Dome."

The series finale of "Under the Dome" airs on Sept. 10 at 10 p.m. EDT. Check out the series finale trailer below.
