A new trailer video reveals that there will be lots of excitement and drama to look forward to in Season 7 of "The Good Wife," as Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) starts her own private law firm and makes deals with "the devil."

Alicia suffered from a number of losses in Season 6, including her beloved Will Gardner (Josh Charles), the law firm that she helped build, and her position as State's Attorney. Fortunately, the preview video hints that the tide will begin to turn in her favor in Season 7, now that she has nothing left to lose.

In the video, Alicia relishes in the fact that she is independent, since she no longer holds a political office or works at a law firm with controlling partners.

"For the first time in my life, I don't have to answer to anyone," Alicia says in the video.

The trailer also gives fans their first glimpse at Margo Martindale as Willa Eastman, a top campaign operative who will probably assist Peter Florrick (Chris Noth) in his run for president.

In another clip, Alicia seems to be making deals with Michael J. Fox's Louis Canning, who she calls "the devil."

Meanwhile, Eli Gold (Alan Cumming) turns over a new leaf in the promo, as he is seen drinking smoothies. The preview also teases a confrontation that will ensue between him and Peter.

According to CarterMatt, the synopsis for the season premiere reads as follows:

"Alicia attempts to revive her struggling law career by representing arrestees seeking release on bail in bond court, where she meets attorney Lucca Quinn [Cush Jumbo], who competes for her clients. Also, Peter brings in national strategist Ruth Eastman to help with his Presidential campaign, and creates an interesting dynamic with Eli in the process."

The new season of "The Good Wife" kicks off on Sunday, Oct. 4 at 9 p.m. EDT on CBS.
