'Godzilla' Movie 2014 Release Date, Cast & Plot Update: Film's Official Trailer Released [Watch Here]
The official trailer for the movie dedicated to one of the oldest monsters known to mankind has finally been released
Compared to the initial teaser, the new trailer seems to give fans a better glimpse of the reptile though it looks like Gareth Edwards still prefers to preserve Godzilla's full body shot until the film hits theaters.
The official trailer barely gives fans enough material to at least imagine the reptile monster in its entirety, showing only a snippet of its roaring face in one scene which was already revealed in the previous teaser.
Nevertheless, the official trailer still reveals a few more details about the upcoming Godzilla reboot. Based on the trailer, it appears that the Japs actually tried to nuke the reptile monster in 1954 but failed to do so. USA Today notes that the year is also Godzilla's debut year on film.
As a result, Godzilla strikes again - only to be announced as a natural disaster, specifically an earthquake. Not long enough, the giant reptile took over trains, buildings and even the Statue of Liberty.
MTV says that the film's new trailer suggests that the 2014 Godzilla movie is "in safe hands." MTV also adds that the film's A-list cast proves that the Godzilla reboot is "more than just another monster movie."
The Gareth Edwards-film stars Aaron Taylor Johnson, Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen, Ken Watanabe, David Strathairn, Juliette Binoche, Sally Hawkins, Brian Markinson, Richard T. Jones, Victor Rasuk and Patrick Sabongui, among others, notes Scified.
"An epic rebirth to Toho's iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure pits the world's most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity's scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence," reads the film's plot.
The film, written by Max Borenstein, is expected to hit theaters May 16. Until then, Godzilla fans will have to be contented with the film's official trailer below or listen to the reptile's resounding roar HERE.
