Len a Dunham, creator and lead star of the hit HBO comedy drama, Girls, is coming to Saturday Night Live.

The 27-year old actress, writer and producer is scheduled to host the late night sketch comedy on March 8.

Dunham tweeted her thanks to all her supporters:

"Thank you for the SNL love. Dream come true. Can't wait to debut my character "girl who googled serial killers all night & has lots to say"!

Hosting SNL is just the latest accomplishment star Dunham can add to her resume. Her award-winning show Girls is mid-way through its third season with HBO and has already been confirmed for a fourth. Dunham's role as lead character Hannah Horvath has earned her a Golden Globe, and she is the first woman to win a Directors Guild Award for Outstanding Director in a Comedy Series. Last year Dunham made Time's 2013 list of most influential people in the world, and in February she was featured on the front cover of fashion magazine Vogue, where she was dubbed "The New Queen of Comedy."

Now Dunham will get the chance to prove why she is deserving of the crown. There's no telling what to expect from Dunham, but it's likely that viewers will be treated to least a few Girls-related jokes. Hopefully we'll see the return of Tina Fey, who had the audience dying with her recent feature as Girls newest roommate Alberta, an immigrant from Albania. Noël Wells also made an appearance in the parody, doing a great impression of Dunham's Hannah.

Another good source of material could be the controversy sparked by the show's frequent nudity. The LA Times reported on this recent exchange between Dunham and a reporter.

"I don't get the purpose of all the nudity on the show -- by [Dunham] in particular," said Tim Molloy of The Wrap. "I feel like I'm walking into a trap where you say no one complains about the nudity on 'Game of Thrones,' but I get why they're doing it. They're doing it to be salacious. To titillate people. And your character is often naked at random times for no reason."

[It's] a realistic expression of what it's like to be alive," Dunham countered. "But I totally get it. If you're not into me, that's your problem and you're going to have to work that out with professionals."

Dunham has been championed for her defiance of Hollywood's conventional use of nudity, usually catering to male audiences. Are we going to get some naked jokes on March 8? We'll have to wait and see. In the meantime, check out SNL's Girls spoof below.
