Actor Manu Bennett, who starred in Season 2 of The CW's "Arrow," was arrested in Texas on Sunday for allegedly punching a man at a party in a San Antonio hotel.

The 45-year-old actor attended a party in a downtown Grand Hyatt hotel room Saturday night while he was in town for the Alamo City Comic Con over the weekend. However, he was asked to leave the event shortly after 4.30 a.m. on Sunday after allegedly drinking too much and "causing a scene," reads a police report, according to USA Today.

Before leaving the party, Bennett encountered a 29-year-old man named Craig Brown, who happened to be standing near the door. Police say Bennett began staring at him, and Brown responded by asking "What?" That's when Bennett allegedly punched him, knocking him to the ground and dislocating his nose.

Brown chose to press charges against the New Zealand-born actor. Bennett, however, told police that he did not remember what happened, although he added that he was "defending himself," say the police report.

Bennett, who also played Azog in "The Hobbit," was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily injury. He was jailed and released Sunday afternoon just before 1 p.m. after making a $1,600 bond. People magazine also confirmed that he is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 19.

According to the Alamo City Comic Con website, Bennett was an invited celebrity guest who was scheduled to make an appearance at the event on both Saturday and Sunday.

Reps for Bennett have not spoken publicly about the incident.

In addition to playing Azog and Oliver Queen's archenemies Deathstroke on "Arrow," Bennett also appeared as Crixus in the Starz series "Spartacus" and as Allanon in MTV's upcoming series "The Shannara Chronicles."
