Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame to Induct Emilio Estefan, Myriam Hernandez, Gustavo Santaolalla at La Musa Awards
Latin music artists Emilio Estefan, Hector Ochoa Cardenas, Myriam Hernandez, Alvaro Torres, Diego Torres and Gustavo Santaolalla will be inducted into the Latin Songwriters Hall Of Fame at the third annual La Musa Awards held at The Fillmore Miami Beach Jackie Gleason Theater on Oct. 15.
Cuban-American musician and producer Estefan has won 19 Grammy Awards in the course of his career. He rose to celebrity status as a member of the Miami Sound Machine. He is also the husband of renowned Latin singer Gloria Estefan.
El Salvador-born singer Torres released his first album "Acariciame" in 1977, but did not become well known until the 1980s. His more famous songs include "Hazme olvidarla," "La Unica," "Lo Que Se Dice Olvidar" and "Nada se compara contigo." He sang a duet with the Mexican singer Marisela on the track "Mi amor por ti" and also sang a duet with late Mexican-American singer Selena on the song "Buenos amigos."
Argentine musician, film composer and producer Santaolalla has won two Academy Awards for Best Original Score for the movies "Brokeback Mountain" in 2005 and "Babel" in 2006, as well as 12 Latin Grammy Awards.
Carlos Ponce will host the awards ceremony to recognize these legendary music creators. Their notable songs written in Spanish and Portuguese will be conducted by Maestro Eduardo Marturet of the Miami Symphony Orchestra.
The gala will include musical performances and special appearances by Quincy Jones, Gloria Estefan, Dionne Warwick, Rita Moreno, Paul Williams, Alejandra Guzman, Beto Cuevas, Omar Alfanno, Lena Burke, Beatriz Luengo, Fantine, Yotuel, Cristian de la Fuente, along with performances by new artists, including singer and actress Isabela Moner and Nashville-based songwriter and musician Anthony De La Torre.

The Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame is a nonprofit organization founded in 2012 by songwriters and producers Desmond Child and Rudy Pérez. The organization's mission is to educate, honor and celebrate the lives and music of the world's greatest Latin songwriters and composers, as well as inspire new talent.
