'Need for Speed' PS4, Xbox One Gameplay: 'NFS 2015' Locked at 30 FPS Like 'Destiny' & 'The Witcher 3'
"Need for Speed" is in constant acceleration to the top of the pack.
One of the main draws for the best-selling racing game is the stunning graphics and smooth gameplay that are instantly noticeable in the recently released trailer. "Need for Speed" talks big ("How will they remember you?"), but backs it up with some of the best-looking animation in the market.
However, developer Ghost Games recently announced that console gamers will be a step behind those on PC in terms of the visuals for "Need for Speed." The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One version of the game will be locked firmly on 30 frames per second while the PC edition will run on 60FPS.
In the FAQ section of the official blog, Ghost Games explained their decision, saying, "We always look to maximize the game technology with the platform technology for the experience we're building, which is why the game will run at 30FPS on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4."
"By doing this we ensure that your gameplay experience remains incredibly smooth and allows you to experience the high speed, adrenaline-fueled gameplay that you've come to expect from the 'Need for Speed' series," the developer concluded.
The "Need for Speed" team has already touched on the graphics in relation to the PC version of the game. A recent report from Latin Post cited the improvement of visuals as one of the reasons the PC release date is getting pushed back.
"Part of the conversation includes hearing from our PC community that an unlocked frame rate in Need for Speed is a massive priority for you, and we fully agree," the statement on the official website read. "To deliver this, we've made the decision to move the PC release date to Spring 2016."
Ghost Games added, "This decision on PC gives us the necessary development time to increase the visuals that we can deliver on PC. We will also include content updates that will have been released on console up to that time, making them available to all PC players from day one."
The latest FAQ also revealed more information about the upcoming game, including Ghost Games' plans to gift the players with new content in the future. The site reported that the team is planning to unveil free content updates for the game.
"We currently have no plans for any paid DLC," the FAQ added.
"Need for Speed" for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will hit the market on Nov. 3 in North America and Nov. 5 worldwide. The PC version of the game is set to be out in Spring 2016.
