The 1D member has finally made his Doncaster Rovers debut during the Wednesday reserve match against Rotherham United.

"If anyone wants to come watch me make my debut for Donny Reserves here's the link :) all for charity! https://fb.st/smp2gd ," Louis tweeted.

The match, which BBC notes was in aid of Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice, sold 4,000 tickets - a far cry from the usual couple of hundred ticket sales for a "usual" reserve game and from the 1D member's "anyone" reference. After all, most Directioners would find it difficult to pass up a chance to see Louis play on the field for a £7 ticket price, reveals The Guardian.

Louis, who was a half time substitute in the game for reserves, came out to play by the 65th minute, says BBC. By that time, Directioners were already reportedly roaring with each stride of the 1D member, notes The Guardian.

According to BBC, the 1D member fell on his backside after attempting a pass 89 minutes into the game but the fall did not disappoint fans in any way.

Doncaster Rovers media executive, Jordan Owens, told Sky News that the players were getting along great with the 1D member for the past few days of training.

"We've been told he's not a bad wing-back. There is always a chance he'll play again," the media executive told Sky News.

The game for reserves ended in a 0-0 draw but based on his Twitter feed, Louis seems to have had a good time.

"Wow what an incredible experience . Can't put into words how I feel :) I will never forget pulling on my own Doncaster Rovers shirt !!" the 1D member tweeted.

"Really can't thank the team, the gaffer and every single person involved at Doncaster Rovers enough ! I feel like a 10 year old again !" he said in another tweet.
